The Miniature Schnauzer dog breed is seen as an active and alert dog of terrier type, which resembles the Standard Schnauzer in general appearance. The Mini-Schnauzer with its hard, wiry, outer coat and close undercoat has a very proud appearance. The Mini-Schnauzer has a coat that can vary in color. There is the salt and pepper colored Mini-Schnauzer, black and silver Miniature Schnauzer, and solid black Mini- Schnauzer. Miniature Schnauzers are very alert and full of life. They know how to listen to commands. He is friendly, intelligent and willing to please. He should never be overaggressive or timid. Mini-Schnauzer pups are bright-eyed, loving and intelligent. Miniature Schnauzers fair well around little kids and children. They are very affectionate so they love to give love to their new owners. They are wonderful friends and companion dogs and need lots of time with the family and prefer not to be alone or ignored. Miniature Schnauzer dog breeders know that it is very important to socialize the pups well with other dogs early on in life during the puppy stage. If well socialized, the Miniature Schnauzer will get along with another dog. The Miniature Schnauzer dog breed is a good dog for either a large home or an apartment setting. This kind of dog breed is quite active indoors and does not need a big yard. Taking these energetic little dogs on a daily walk or two is important and is the kind of exercise they can enjoy. The Miniature Schnauzer breed sheds very little to no hair and is a good choice for allergy sufferers. A Mini-Schnauzer requires regular but infrequent grooming (every 4-6 weeks).
